Religious Kolomentality.

As shared by Charlie Boy

"Before before long long time ago,
Africans had their mode of worship till the white man sold to us, religion.

I have lived in the white mans country
and he is not as gaga about religion like
we are. Is it that we now know more than
our teachers or masters. How come we
are now more religious than the pope.
Trust us, our own god is not exactly like
the Oyibo God, ours is custom made by us to suit our wimps and caprices.

Christianity in Naija is a different parol I tell you. Especially with all this penticostal Willy willy. Not that I want to caricature our way of worship but it’s a simple fact that it focuses intensely on “God-given prosperity” (ie making money) and spirit possession.
Though I am partly a Christian, I am entirely opposed to blind acceptance of faith. I am also against the use of religion to exploit the weak and feeble in society.
I don talk my own." - Charles Oputa

MISSING MED STUDENT, 28, LAST SEEN 7 DAYS AGO

Chicago police are searching for a 28-year-old man last seen seven days ago at a library.

Ambrose Monye was last seen April 21 at the University of Chicago's Crerar medical library at 5730 S. Ellis.

Monye is described as a 5'10", 180-pound black man with black hair, brown eyes and medium complexion, police said.

He is four weeks from graduating with his medical degree. He's a University of Guadalajara student in Chicago on a two-year clinical rotation at Jackson Park Hospital.

Joseph Monye is a year behind his brother on the same track. They come from just outside Baltimore where there's fear of the prospect of what may have happened to the eldest son of an academically decorated family.

Police will only say they are investigating. Ambrose Monye's classmates say he's a quiet and helpful guy who moves predictably between his Hyde Park apartment, the gym and the hospital. They got worried when they did not hear from him by Saturday. They went to his apartment and found nothing unusual -- there were even fresh groceries in the fridge.

Earlier in his Chicago stay, Ambrose Monye completed a rotation with an ophthalmologist. Preparing for a career in medicine was his sole focus, his family says.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Special Victims Unit detectives at (312) 747-8380.

LIB exclusive: How Teebillz nearly killed himself this morning - he tried to jump off the Lekki-Ikoyi toll bridge

When Teebillz shared his suicide note this morning on IG while pouring his heart out about the demise of his marriage to Tiwa Savage, many of us thought/hoped he was just talking, but he wasn't. Tunji 'Teebillz' Balogun tried to commit suicide this morning by jumping off the Lekki- Ikoyi toll bridge and this is fact!

According to an eye-witness named Chukwuma Ani, who witnessed the incident and was one of the men who pulled Teebillz off the bridge, he told LIB exclusively that around past 9 this morning while driving on the Lekki-Ikoyi toll bridge, a car hit his own from behind, damaging his car. He said he came out of the car and approached the driver of the vehicle that hit his. He didn't know who the man was (it was Teebillz) but he said he berated him for hitting his car and asked the man to come out and assess the damage caused to his car. The man looked at him and told him to leave...that he was there for a reason. That he was planning to commit suicide and Chukwuma Ani would hear about it later...

Not knowing who the guy was or understanding why he was talking suicide, Mr Ani said he kept insisting that the driver must come down from his car and see the damage he had caused to his car. He said he noticed alcohol on the floor of the driver's car so thought the man was drunk. He said while shouting and berating the driver for hitting his car, the guy just suddenly drove his car with speed to the front.

Ani said he got into his own car and gave chase and was surprised to see the driver of the car parking his car in the middle of the bridge as other cars drove past. He said he parked in front of the driver and approached the man again, telling him that he couldn't even apologize for hitting his car and was instead trying to drive off. He said as he was berating the man, he (Teebillz) got down from his car and walked to the bridge railing.

He said he stood there wondering what the driver was trying to do and it was at that point that two other cars approached them. He said as he was trying to figure out who the new comers were, Teebillz had moved to the bridge railing and was trying to jump. Mr. Ani said a light skinned guy came out from the first car and began running towards Teebillz screaming and that was when he realized what was going on..
"I thought I was watching a movie" Ani told LIB "the man held the railing and tried to jump over it and that was when the yellow man held him and started shouting for help. The two of them nearly fell into the water. I quickly joined the yellow man to pull the guy out and while we were struggling with him, one PSquare twin (Peter Okoye) and Banky W joined us to pull the man out " Ani said
LIB called Peter Okoye to confirm he was there but he refused to say anything "Even if I was there, I can't say anything about it" he said.

We hear Teebillz is doing okay now and is surrounded by family and friends. People need to take depression seriously in Nigeria - a lot of people are so depressed and struggling and don't usually have anywhere to turn to for help. Let's always lend a helping hand. Hope Teebillz gets better.

Nigerian breaks 187-yr-old record at University of London

A Nigerian academic, Prof. Abiodun Alao, will today deliver a professorial inaugural lecture at King’s College, University of London. This makes him the first black African scholar to deliver the inaugural lecture since the institution was established in 1829.
Alao, a professor of African Studies, was conferred with a professorial title about two years ago alongside his Nigerian counterpart in the institution’s African Leadership Centre, Prof. Funmi Olonisakin, making them the first black Africans to attain the professorial cadre in King’s College since its establishment.
The appointments have been confirmed in a letter by the institution’s president and principal, Prof. Edward Byrne AC, which justified their elevations at the instance of their contributions to African peace and security.
Alao’s lecture titled, “Africa: A Voice to be Heard, Not a Problem to be Solved” will be delivered at the Edward Safra Lecture Theatre at the college’s main campus.
The lecture will be attended by people from different parts of the world including the United States, Australia, Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria.
Alao has published several single-authored books, well-researched articles in journals and occasional papers, among others, which findings and recommendations “have largely helped to establish peace and boost security in many African countries”.

In an institution that has produced 12 Nobel Laureates among its professors, a statement yesterday said Alao distinguished himself, citing about 100 widely recognised academic articles and Encyclopaedia entries he had published, all of which were assessed to accord him the professorial tittle.
Aside from his academic contributions, Alao joined the long list of globally renowned academics King’s College has produced and whose research works have produced answers to different challenges facing humanity and society since its establishment.
Ranked among the top 20 universities in the world, King’s College, London, holds a unique position in global scholarship, as evident in the landmark research works the institution’s professors and alumni have conducted since its establishment several decades ago.

EFCC seizes Nenadi Usman’s houses and has returned N23M and promises to return more

Eniola Akinkuotu
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized two houses belonging to Senator Nenadi Usman who was the Director of Finance of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation.
It was learnt that the two houses seized were located in Abuja.

The EFCC had arrested Usman last week after it was established that N2.5bn was paid into her company account, Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, and N140m cash was allegedly paid into her Zenith Bank Account with number, 1000158311, domiciled on 7, Kachia Road, Kaduna.
The said transfer, which emanated from the Central Bank of Nigeria, took place in January 2015, during the build up to the presidential election.
The PUNCH had reported that Usman had returned N23m to the Federal Government and also promised to return more money.
It was learnt that the suspect revealed that she had two houses in Abuja and the EFCC swiftly sealed off the buildings.
A source at the anti-graft agency said, “She has been cooperating with us as she has returned N23m and we have also seized two houses belonging to her in Abuja.”
The source revealed that Usman complained of health challenges and she might be released on an administrative bail soon.
“Since she has been cooperating with us and has also returned some money, she will be granted an administrative bail. She seems to have some health challenges. Also, releasing her will give her the ability to return more funds,” the source added.
The PUNCH had reported in March that Usman had on the instruction of a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, transferred different sums of money to several individuals and interest groups during the build up to the last elections.
Usman allegedly transferred monies to several persons through the bank account of a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited.
Through the said account, the Director of Publicity of the Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, received N840m. According to the documents sighted by our correspondent, the money was deposited into Fani-Kayode’s Zenith bank account, Maitama Branch with number 1004735721 on February 19, 2015.
EFCC sources said a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Olu Falae, received N100m through a company, Marreco Limited, where he is chairman. The fund was credited into the company’s United Bank for Africa Plc account number 1000627022.
About N320m was also paid into the bank account of the Goodluck Support Group, an association of over 100 pro-Jonathan groups headed by Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Prof. Rufai Alkali.

Art director describes how he was sucker-punched and knocked unconscious by stranger because he 'looks like Shia LaBeouf'

An art director claims he was sucker-punched because he looks like Shia LaBeouf.
Mario Licato, who works in advertising, was randomly attacked by the stranger on New York's subway and knocked unconscious on Saturday night while he was on his way to Pianos nightclub.
He has described how he didn't see the assailant until he noticed a fist coming at him.
The punch sent him flying down the stairs at Delancey Street Station on the Lower East Side and, after he fell, he heard someone shouting: 'This is because you look exactly like Shia LaBeouf!'
Mario Licato

Shia LaBeouf
He told Gothamist: 'I was so confused. I was even more confused because I got up and I was like, am I crazy or did I hear him say, "This is because you look like Shia LaBeouf?"
'And [the couple] were like: "Nope. That's exactly what he said as he was running away from you."'
The couple called 911 and helped Licato up the stairs to the sidewalk to wait for an ambulance.
One arrived within minutes, but Licato says the technicians didn't help.

He told the website: 'They got out of the car and the first EMT guy, while I'm gushing blood from my face, with my broken glasses, just says, "Welcome to New York, buddy." 'My response was "Well, f*** you, I’m born and raised here." I was like, "Are you kidding me? You're standing in front of somebody who's bleeding out of their face and that's your first response?"' The medics checked Licato for a concussion.

They found he was clear and said a butterfly bandage would be enough for a cut on his eye. Then they left without even waiting for the police. He then told cops the attacker was in his mid-20s, 6 foot to 6-foot-3, and muscular.
He didn't get a good look at him as he was running down the stairs and boarded the train straight after the hit.
Licato said it isn't the first time he has been compared to the Transformers and Even Stevens actor.
But he wants to know why the suspect decided to punch him.

'I wanna know what Shia LaBeouf did to him. What did Shia LaBeouf do to him that he punched somebody that looks like him? He must have did something so mean. Did he steal his girlfriend? Did he just see his last performance art piece?'

In the aftermath, Licato also uploaded a picture of his bruised eye to Instagram.
'I wanna thank the guy who randomly decided he needed to hit me last night. "this happened bc you look exactly like Shia labeouf".  'Well sir you boosted my self esteem bc he's p hot,' he wrote.

150 females raped, 31 babies abandoned in Lagos in a year

No fewer than 150 females were raped, while 31 babies were abandoned on the streets of Lagos in the last one year.
The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, said this at a press briefing in Ikeja on Tuesday.
Akinbile-Yussuf explained that 150 reported cases of sexual and physical abuse were officially recorded, while five pregnant schoolchildren were assisted to access adequate ante-natal and delivery services and were also integrated back into school.
“Also, a total of 57,350 schoolchildren benefitted from individual and group counselling sessions to curb truancy, gangsterism and other social vices. About 150 reported cases of sexual abuse and physical abuse were treated. Five pregnant schoolchildren were assisted to access adequate antenatal and delivery services. They were also integrated back into school,” she added.
The commissioner further stated that 85 suspected rapists and paedophiles had been taken to court while the cases were still pending.
She said 31 babies, comprising 19 females and 12 males, abandoned by their parents, were rescued in the last one year on the streets of Lagos.
“The Child Protection Unit is responsible for the rescue and referral of all abandoned babies and children in the state to orphanages and homes. It also carries out child audit on the registered orphanages to decongest the homes and discourage institutionalisation. A total of 31 babies —19 females and 12 males — were rescued during the period under review,” she said.
She explained that 74 babies were released for adoption, while 81 adoptions were legalised through the family courts.
Akinbile-Yussuf said the government took 1,340 beggars, the destitute and the mentally-challenged off the streets of Lagos.
“A total of 590 rehabilitees were released and re-united with their relations for re-integration.
“The state government provides medical and vocational facilities to help in turning the lives of beggars around. About 147 rehabilitees are currently undergoing vocational training at the Lagos State Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Majidun,” she said.
The commissioner added that the state handled 634 juvenile cases in the last one year, out of which 26 juveniles were repatriated to their countries after due consultation with their embassies.
In the same vein, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Lola Akande, said the ministry in the last one year treated about 589 cases ranging from sexual abuse, physical abuse and child labour cases.
She said the ministry also received 382 cases of domestic violence out of which 234 were successfully treated, which among others include physical and emotional pains, harm, injury, humiliation and degradation, permanent and partial disability, separation, divorce and needless loss of lives.
Akande asked members of the society to come up with useful information on sexual violence against women and men, as well as other social vices including any suspected illegal baby factory.

40 Harvard University students suffer mumps outbreak

A mumps outbreak at Harvard University has affected 40 members of the school community over the last two months. Nearly a dozen students were in isolation as of Monday night, according to a university spokeswoman.

Harvard first announced two confirmed cases of mumps at the school in March. Despite investigations into the infection’s cause and efforts to isolate affected students, the number has continued to rise.

A viral infection, mumps causes swelling in the salivary glands and cheeks. Its symptoms include fever, aching, headache, and a loss of appetite. Often, mumps spreads through direct physical contact with an infected person or an object or surface which someone with mumps has touched.
The Cambridge Public Health Department has been tracking the infection’s spread, interviewing those infected to determine with whom the students had contact, Susan Feinberg, a spokeswoman for the department, said. A month ago, the department determined that all infected students to that point had received a mumps vaccine prior to contracting the infection, and that 99 percent of undergraduate students at the college had met the state’s immunization requirements.

To date, Feinberg had not yet heard of any confirmed cases in Cambridge that were unrelated to the Harvard community.

The university has promoted prevention tactics, university spokeswoman Lindsey Baker said. With the end of the academic year wrapping up, students are preparing for final exams and commencement, and the university is once again urging students to remain vigilant to avoid contracting the infection.

“It’s hard to predict how it will go and how much exposure there is,” Baker said. “It’s more just those events are coming up, so we just want people to take precautions.”

Harvard students aren’t alone — during the time of the school’s outbreak, Massachusetts had already confirmed 12 cases of mumps across the state this year, including UMass Boston two confirmed cases in March at UMass Boston and one case in February at Bentley University in Waltham.

Don Jazzy’s Father advises Artists to Take a Lesson from Papa Wemba’s Death

Collins Enebelli aka Mavins Grandpa, is the Father to Mavins CEO & Super Producer, Don Jazzy. He recently posted some advice on his Facebook page for artists and managers following the sudden death of Congolese legendary singer
He says:
The sad news of the death of Papa Wemba is a wake up call for artists and their managers to see reason why promoters and event organisers need the services of healthcare service providers for artists while on engagement for their events to avoid preventable fatalities as this. Most artists due to their busy schedules are known not to be paying enough attention to their health and listening to their bodies which may have been under pressure and stretched to breaking point without them knowing it. Artiste managers need to insist that the services of a trained health personnel who specialises in handling celebrities is factored into their performance contract to ensure that artists are well monitored and looked after when on professional engagement anywhere in the world. That way, risks such as this will be detected early enough and efforts made to seek help before it is too late. In the past, The King of soul music James Brown died while on a series of shows lined up for him. The same thing happened to the King of pop Michael Jackson who died while also under pressure from preparations for his mother of all shows ‘This is it’. We are yet to recover from the shocking news of the demise of the purple rain crooner Prince earlier this week and now it is our own dear Papa Wemba. This is the reason we must all see the need to engage the services of professionals like Vickie Roberts Hospitality services who had been a veteran advocate for our artistes to be given good health care checks and having standby health personnel when they are on duty call anywhere in the world. Like John the Baptist, she has been lending her voice to this call and this might just be one more last call for us to save the lives of our stars by doing the right thing as a stitch in time saves nine. May the soul of Papa Wemba rest in perfect peace.

Rotary offers scholarship to 22 students

The District Educational and Welfare Endowment Fund, an arm of the Rotary, District 9110, is exploring more avenues to increase the reach of its scholarship offers to indigent students.
The Chairman of the fund, Adeniji Raji, said this while presenting cheques to 22 beneficiaries of the scheme.
The beneficiaries comprising nine new recipients and 13 existing ones, were drawn from universities in Lagos and Ogun states. They received a cheque of N100,000 each.
Noting that the club would increase the number of recipients to 20 next year, Raji said the scheme, currently limited to university students, would be expanded to include students of polytechnics and colleges of education in coming years.
To achieve these, he said his team would engage corporate organisations and wealthy individuals on how they could key into the initiative.
He added that it was the responsibility of the privileged members of the society to support brilliant but indigent students to achieve their life dreams.
He noted, “As life is getting harder day-by-day, it is natural for human beings to disregard the needy and the impoverished. It is natural for us to continue with the business of life not doing enough for the deprived.”

He added that 10 beneficiaries of the fund had graduated with first class and second-class upper division since 2009 when the organisation started scholarship initiative.
Raji, who said the selection process was merit-driven, noted that family members of Rotarians were not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The District Governor, Otunba Bola Onabadejo, lamented the high cost of education, saying there was no reason the government could not provide free education at all levels.
He said, “The challenge we have is that once people have had their problems solved, they relax. They forget what they passed through. But what we should do is to build a system that is of assistance to the government. That is what Rotary is doing.
The recipients are from the University of Lagos; Lagos State University, Ojo; Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University and the National Open University of Nigeria.
A beneficiary and 200-level Biology student of NOUN, Onajoke Opeyemi, said the assistance would enable her parents to concentrate on her other siblings

Six Ekiti doctors, driver perish in auto crash

Six members of the Ekiti State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association, including their driver, on Sunday lost their lives in a road traffic accident along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
The men were on their way to Sokoto for the 56th NMA Annual General Conference/Annual Delegates Meeting when their vehicle was involved in a fatal crash. It was gathered that the rear tyre of the vehicle burst while the driver was speeding.
The impact, it was gathered, set the vehicle on a ghastly somersault, killing the six medical doctors and the driver while others were injured.
The Ekiti NMA Chairman, Dr. John Akinbote, who survived the accident, told  one of our correspondents on Monday that survivors were still receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Kaduna.
A statement on Monday in Abuja co-signed by the NMA President, Dr. Kayode Obembe, and the Secretary-General, Dr. Adewumi Alayaki, identified the deceased as Dr. Alex Akinyele, Secretary, NMA Ekiti Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti and Dr. Tunde Aladesanmi, General Surgeon, FTH, Ido Ekiti.
Others are Dr. O.J. Taiwo, anatomic pathologist, Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti; Dr. Ogunseye J.B., of the National Association of General and Government Medical and Dental Practitioners and National Secretary, Hospital Management Board, Ekiti; Dr. Olajide O., President, Association of Resident Doctors, EKSUTH; Dr. Atolani Adeniyi, Secretary, NAGGMDP, Ekiti State; and Mr. Ajibola, the NMA Ekiti driver.
The Ekiti NMA Chairman, Dr. John Akinbote

The statement added that survivors “are in stable condition and are receiving medical attention under the auspices of the Chairman of the Kaduna State NMA and his team.”
It stated that the bereaved families had been contacted and arrangements were being made  to convey the bodies back to Ekiti State, adding that burial arrangements would be communicated in due course.
The NMA said it had sent its representatives to Kaduna for an on-the-spot assessment and to complement the effort of the Kaduna medical team.
“While the conference continues, the National Officers’ Committee hereby directs that all doctors should observe one week of mourning from Tuesday, April 26 to Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Every doctor should put on black band on the left arm over white overall,” the NMA directed.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has commiserated with the President and all members of the NMA over the loss of their colleagues.
A statement by the Director, Media and Public Relations, Ministry of Health, Boade Akinola, said the minister prayed for the quick recovery of the survivors.
Also, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared a three-day mourning, describing the situation as the lowest point in the history of the state and a monumental loss, not only to the people of Ekiti State but to Nigerians.
The three days of mourning which started on Monday would end on Wednesday.
Fayose, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, has directed that all flags should be flown at half-mast.
“Ekiti has lost some of the best trees in its forest of medicine. I am deeply sad. This is one loss too many.
“Death of seven prominent indigenes of a state in one day and at the same period is a burden too heavy to bear. It is my prayer that God, who is the only Giver and Taker of life, will give Ekiti people the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
The governor urged families, friends and professional colleagues of the deceased, especially members of the NMA to take solace in God.

Also, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Kola Oluwawole, has condoled with the people of the state, particularly members of the NMA over the death of the six doctors.
Oluwawole, in a condolence message signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, said it was a grievous moment, not only for Ekiti State, but also the entire nation and its health sector.
But activities at hospitals in Ekiti State were paralysed on Monday  as medical workers protest the untimely death of the medical doctors.
At the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti the protesting members of staff alleged that a top member of the management of the hospital was behind the death.
An eyewitness said medical workers trooped out as early as 7am and locked the main gate of the hospital in protest, which caused  panic among patients and their families.
The Publicity Secretary of the Senior Staff Association of University Teaching Hospitals, Ekiti State branch, Mr. Tope Ogunleye, said, “This isn’t really a protest, we are just using this avenue to register our grievances.
“Yesterday afternoon, we had a terrible incident where three of our doctors here lost their lives in a ghastly vehicle accident. The three doctors are Dr. Alex Akinyele, Dr. Tunde Aladesanmi and Dr. Adeniyi.
“We are worried that this tragic incident is becoming too regular. Sometime last year, we lost four of our members. It is more worrisome that we learnt that all this is happening because so many diabolical things have been going on in the hospital.”
However, the FETHI’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Lawrence Ayodele, described the death as a national disaster.
“It is not about the state, but the whole country because it involves six senior doctors and a driver. On behalf of the entire hospital community, we pray that this kind of very sad event would not happen again. We need a period of prayer to put an end to this kind of ugly incident.”
Ayodele appealed to the workers not to allow emotion to override their sense of reasoning.
“I got the information this morning. But let me say that it is normal that when there is a grief, people can bring up any kind of emotion. But we should not allow emotion to override our thinking and grief should not push us to doing what we are not supposed to do. I plead with them to be peaceful.”
The CMD said the families of the deceased had been contacted by both the state government and the NMA.
At EKSUTH in Ado-Ekiti, workers were seen in groups discussing the accident in hushed tones.
The CMD of EKSUTH, Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe, said the management had sent five ambulances to Kaduna to evacuate the corpses of the deceased.
Ogundipe, who appealed to members to be peaceful, prayed that God would grant the NMA, the deceased’s families and the Ekiti government the fortitude to bear the loss.

Will you marry Akin?

I met a young qualified man some months ago and he expressed his dismay and disappointment at his inability to get married up till now even though he has been ready for the past 2 years, the challenge is that the women he would love to walk down the aisle with don’t want to touch him with a 10-footpole because he doesn’t have a car, takes a bus to work, jumps on okada(bike) often to get to work, makes less than 70,000 naira (300 dollars) a month” It’s such an irony and also very sad that there are a lot of young hardworking, bright ,qualified men out there who are ready to get married or settle down but are constantly overlooked and ignored because they don’t have some luxury or a certain type of lifestyle. Education and bright ideas were golden in the time of our parents but now as a result western exposure, social media, Instagram Gratification, cable TV etc money ,cars, clothes ,current job title play a major role in finding a husband or boyfriend. Some ladies would rather date a man who has money and cheats on them then a man who is faithful but struggling. I recently heard of a lady who postponed her wedding because she didn’t want to get married in Ikeja because her friends don’t like crossing 3rd mainland bridge & thought her initial wedding venue was “random / basic” What happened to bright ideas? Ambition? Love? Sensitivity ? A lot of ladies today are single because if “AKIN” should approach them with his 70,000 salary and his bright ideas they would say God forbid bad thing my parents didn’t send me to school to settle for such a man. Substance lasts over material as history as always shown. Have reasonable standards and take chances
Will you date or marry Akin?

BLACK SUNDAY IN JESSE AS YOUTHS INVADE MOUNTAIN OF PRAYERS MINISTRY. PROPERTIES DESTROYED, 12 INJURED.
By Blessing Akamugbe

It was pandemonium in Jesse today as unknown youths invade Pastor Emma Church known as Mountain Of Prayers Ministry along the Jesse Sapele Rd Before Water Board over an alleged civil offence of adultery.

The angry youths said that Bishop Emma the General Overseer of the church has been sleeping with married women within and outside the church. He met his Waterloo when he slept with Chief Austine Omonode's wife, a former member of the church. It should be noted that Chief Omonode is the President General of Idjerhe Clan Development Union (ICDU). It was unconfirmed whether the angry youths invaded the church on the order of the ICDU PG. But suffices to say that properties Worth hundreds of thousands were DESTROYED, 12 of the Members injured but no life was lost.
As at when the heat was on, Officers of the Nigerian Army arrested the ICDU PG to their base for interrogation.

Other version of the story suggests that the invasion of the church has political undertone resulting from the recently concluded CDC election at one of Seplat based community in Jesse in which the Pastor won as against the candidacy of the PG. In finding means to bringing the pastor's image down hence the propaganda of lies. He was advised to step down or face the embarrassment of adultery. His refusal to comply resulted to the invasion of the church on Sunday Morning when service was on-going but met the Bishop absent. They resorted to attack and destroying everything in the church.
Eyes witnesses condemned the adulterous act of the Pastor if the story is true as well as blamed the highly respected Chief for giving the nod to his boys for the attack on the church of God which was the reason the Army got annoyed with the PG.

One thing that makes God the superior was this ;after the attack, Members of the church continued their service praising God and shouting Fire, Fire, Fire
