Woman applies a full face of make-up while in LABOUR... and her hubby takes over when the pain becomes too much

A MAKE-up artist gave herself a full-face makeover mid-way through labour in order to distract herself after the pains became too much.

Alaha Majid, 27, posted the images on Instagram of her applying make-up before giving birth to her daughter Sofia Alaya Karimi on February 15.

She uploaded an image of her lying in a hospital bed using a 35-shade eye shadow palette with the caption:

"Three weeks ago at this time I was finishing up my make-up and getting ready for my princess to make her appearance. Yes, I was doing my make-up while I was in labor! "I was pausing during contractions and picking up where I left off once the contractions passed. I only packed some of my favorite products in my hospital bag..." she wrote.The 27-year-old came equipped to the hospital with mink eyelashes, a contouring kit, liquid lipsticks, a brow pomade, and a holder for her many make-up brushes.

In another photo Alaha can be seen using a round shaped make-up sponge to presumably blend in her contouring around her eyes and cheekbones.

She also posted a photo of her husband holding a make-up brush while she turned away during a more difficult and painful contraction. "When the contractions got too strong, hubby was there to save the day," she captioned sweet and rather unusual picture. Before uploading the images of herself during labour, Alaha posted a glamorous snap of her made up while holding her newborn baby.

The new mum went on to say that despite their daughter only being in the couple's lives for two days, they can't remember life without her.

"She has changed our lives in ways we never thought were possible and has given us the most beautiful outlook on life. "How could a little human who we have only known for 48 hours, have so much impact on our lives? "Both hubby and I are so in love with her that we stare at her for hours as our hearts fill with joy, and our eyes fill with tears trying to understand how we became so lucky to be chosen as her parents."
