This advice is so wrong on so many level! this is the reason women die in their marriage from domestic violence. Regardless of the situation, No man should ever lay his hands on his wife. Stop blaming the victims!
Prayer is the master key but common sense is needed! Don't just advice the women, advice the men too. She hasn't tackled the issue raised.
This is not just for a religion, all so called clerics. Our culture is also working against us. Yoruba for instance believe you have to stay married. Even when you your husband is beating the day light out of you. To ri omo ni( bcos of your children) and some other rubbish. Marriage is not a do or die! People need to wake up!
ReplyDeleteI'm terribly pained. Did the 1st Speaker just justify the reasons why the woman's husband would be abusive? She just blamed her without batting an eyelid! This is truly difficult for me to comprehend. No matter what the situation might have been, there should never be justification for hitting your spouse. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is truly real and even our women who have power to fight against it by creating awareness and help others going through it aren't helping. I'm not sure what the woman is supposed to learn from this answer. I don't remember where in the bible it says "Men love your wives based on the condition that she respects you". This is just ridiculous!
